Flower Macro

I have wanted to do a flower macro composition for a long time. This photo is a composite of 15 separate photos stacked and blended in Photoshop. The result is the image that you see here. This is my first attempt at stacking but, this is what I bought the Tokina 100mm for so it’s about time I got to it if you ask me.

I left the blown out petal on the right side rather than try  to photoshop it out. This is after all an experiment and not a finished work. We have but few lessons in life if we choose to look perfect rather than express our need to grow by learning from our mistakes. (I bumped the camera when I took that frame)  Simply stated, Flower Macro is just the beginning and I hope that my future progress will reflect in my work s I progress.

I plan to do quite a few macro sessions in the near future. I don’t want to spoil it now but suffice to say, it may involve bubbles and or farm animals of various sizes. Possible an arachnid of some sort and dog named boo, if I can get him to sit still long enough for the exposure time we are looking at. These experiments are meant to be learning sessions as much as refining skills and creative endeavors. I am not proposing to be an expert at anything other than an innate ability to test the boundaries of the ordinary and push the envelope of common sense beyond it’s limits.

I look forward to any comments or insights you may have.
